mine is definatly do more car orientated stuff
maybe a sprint or two , several trackdays and definatly autotests if there is any
plus will be doing my best to get out of the building trade
Tan wants to go down to four days a week as she would like to start her own business up; gently does it after four years being employed!!
I'm going to really push for a regional role within my current employer. More of a strategic move as I hope to surf the wave of some great work in 2011. This will mean more hours and travelling, but should guarantee some far better money as time goes on.
I need to kickstart my fitness, and I decided to buy a Concept 2 rower yesterday. I drove from North Norfolk with family to Ipswich, rang the guy for final directions (I still distrust satnav) only to be told that he had sold it to someone else ten minutes ago- even though he knew I was travelling that night to get it! So, having saved
Like most of the Western hemisphere, fitness as I enter my 40's, and consolidating promotion.
Done loads of big things this year, and it would be good to throw some fun back into the mix. If the car proves reliable enough, I'd love to do a trackday or autotest, but I'm realistic enough to know that unless I get the finances straight, anything above an autotest or 1/4 mile is out.
Workwise with the Olympics, there's not going to be much in the way of holiday at reasonable times, so any really decent trips will be 2013. (America's already being planned, I'll need a bloody holiday by then!)
Sadly 2011 was pretty low for us as a family and as a result of this most of the year's plans where basicly put on hold .
Having a slightly different outlook on life now, 2012 could be an interesting year in which i am looking forward to the challenges ahead .
I have mucho respect for those who have been shrewd enough to have paid off their mortgages and i wish to try and speed up this process in 2012 if possible.
We have planning for a small kitchen extension which i would like to be in for next xmas , aswell as the rest of the house needing a makeover .
As for cars i would love a change to the dark side but that will have to wait and i will continue to use what i have .Already have a couple of trackdays booked to look forward to in 2012 .
Ofcourse all this depends on how work takes off next year as this list will cost a few quid but i am quietly confident of starting to make inroads into it.
I have missed catching up with everyone in Bigpower socially this past year which i need to address next year.
I'd be interested in hearing about your running Maff. How long have you been at it, is that road running or off road (fields, woodland etc)? Have you noticed a general improvement in your fitness or is this all quite new>
Really useful, and helped with motivation.
I felt loads better generally, slept better, stronger, fitter, concentrated easier.....
Only thing is my right knee is now seriously f8cked and I've probably got to have some form of reconstruction done. My advice would be to lose some weight if possible with cycling and walking as it's less load bearing (swimmings good too, but you can't do that with the dogs) and then start running off road as it's kinder to the joints.
I started in April once it was light enough to run in the evenings.
Began with a bit of run 1 min walk 1 min and slowly built it up. Not really worrying about how far I went to begin with, just making sure i got 45 mins 3x a week with my heart rate up.
Things progressed quite well, and i started to try and extend the first but so first 1k then walk/run the rest, and gradually built up that first section. By autumn i could just about make 4k without stopping, then along came winter.... I don't like the cold, so runs got limited to weekends and progressed slowed, in fact probably fell back a bit.
As soon as its light enough to run after work ill get back on it, and hope to be able to run 10k by autumn 2012.
Did consider buying a treadmill to keep going through the winter but er didn't.
Some things that helped me.
1)Remembering being out there no matter how bad your doing is better than being sat at home.
2)You'll run too fast to start with, no matter how daft the slow lopping run feels, keep slow and keep going.
3)Good shoes, that you keep for running only.
4)Land on your heels.
The runkeeper app for android/lemon is rather good.
er... thats about it i think.
feeling a bit guilty sat here actually, now... wheres those mince pies.
