What's the plans for it then Russ?

Lol! By all account mate the broken seat is quite common. when you looked through the windscreen at the seats you could see the drivers seat leaning over. No worries though mate i am well chuffed with it.Ben wrote:My gawd russ you've been a busy boy .. what's with the seat? ... wonky? .. lol, I never noticed, i'm not that heavy.
And yep, scrapping the front spliter is normal

I did have a friend of a friend phone me up yesturday to ask if it was for sale as he had heard through the grape vine that i had one. My reply was "no mate its my new toy!"
I thought i`d killed the golf last week!
After all the snow and cold weather we`ve had the golf had not moved for a couple of weeks, so last thursday i thought it a good idea to give her a run and pick my lad up from his child minders at the same time. All was going well and i parked up outside the child minders (fortunatly out on the road) some two miles from my place. My heart fell through the floor when we came out and saw an oil trail leading from down the road ending up in a huge puddle under the car!:frown: "Bollocks!" I thought, That can`t be good? I lifted the bonnet only to find the entire engine bay awash with fresh oil. So i pulled the dip stick and saw there was still some oil in it and remembered that Ben had left me a fresh litre of oil in the car. I then crossed my fingers that it would be enough to get me back home where i could look at it properly. I made it to within about a quarter of mile from my place before the low oil buzzer and oil light came on so i switched it off quick sharp. "Bollocks!" again i thought i can almost see my house from here....What to do now?.....I know! Its not far, I will push it the rest of the way! I hadn`t realised that i live on the busiest longest road in the world! Once home (nackered) i was able to get the gunk out and clean the engine to see where the hell all the oil was leaking from? I put some oil in it and started it up..........After only a few seconds of running it this what i found.

Oil was pouring out from the top of the oil cooler mount!
So a quick call to Trev to put my mind at rest that this wasn`t a sign of something more terminal? Trev suspected it was just the oil cooler seal and he was spot on! (thanks for the help mate:thumbs:)

It was a doddle to do, I just cant belive how the oil got everywhere. Its covered the whole of the underside of the car even the rear window was covered. So with fresh oil, filter, coolant and anti freeze i started it up and the oil was leaking no more.

Now the header tank is leaking around the seam, So next job is to get a replacement expansion bottle.
Oh and get another alternator, At least it stops me getting bored with it.
