Turned up for work toninght at 20.30 to find the barriers closed and the security guard not in the hut. Nothing unusal at the weekend. So I waited for 5 mins to se if he returned then decided to go and open up and move my car later.
Enetered the building and turned on the lights and as I turned the corner i found the security guard, dead on the floor. I actually found myself turn to run but had to check. I've seen deceased people before but nothing like this, he had been dead for a couple of hours and was still clutching his mobile phone. I only spoke him lst night, well 03.00 this morning.

Still up and i've got the house lit up like a christmas tree. I feel like a 10yr old who's afraid of the dark, how fucking stupid is that. Just cant get that image out of my mind and i've still got to go back into work.
Then it's the weekend again and i seriously dont know at the moment if i can do it, but i have to.
I have to find someway to deal with this and quickly as i've had 3hrs sleep in the last 24hrs and even then i had to have the lights on.
Seriously starting to question my own sanity.

I'd recommend going back to the "venue" in daylight, take your time and re-acquaint yourself with the place, and re-trace your steps exactly.
Once you have done this, take someone you trust through it explaining what you found.
Then approaching the same thing when it's dark won't be quite as daunting.
Victims of crime often feel better for retracing their steps, and reconstructions often provide closure too. I say this as someone who has been there (many times) and as someone who genuinely wishes you a very speedy recovery from the trauma.
From experience, the longer you leave it, the harder it will be to go back there.
If you want to talk about it, PM me mate.

This recent incident is just a trigger for an icident that occurred some 10yrs ago whilst running a sports centre. Something that I have always felt guilty about. Basically I second guessed myself and questioned my findings.
We had a client Mr X, who had recently undergone a triple heart bypass operation and as part of his recovery I was allowing him to use the swimming pool during closed sessions, accompanied by his wife who watched. It was so rewarding to see him go from only being able to swim 5 mtrs at a time to being able to swim over a hundres mtrs.
On the day in question he finished his swim early due to not feeling well. They came up to reception and his wife came up to me, slightly worried. She had forgotten his medication at home and was going to go and get it, he was going to wait at the sports centre. She expected to be gone for 15 mins.
His condition stated to deteriate rapidly and inspite of me suggesting an ambulance he wanted to wait for his wife. I was monitoring his pulse and general condition. His pulse was repid and weak and he was looking pale.
All these symptoms pointed towards a person going into clinical shock and possibly suffering internal bleeding......but.....I questioned this.
He had just finished swimming, so his pulse would be rapid.
Due to the bypass operation I questioned as to this being the cause for the weak pulse.
Again due to the bypass operation he had a slightly pale complextion.
His condition was still deteriating and i was now in a position where I believed he was going to go into cardiac arrest and it was a question of when and not if.
We still had customers in the building and a school bus about to turn up. So I had some decisions to make. I called the staff to reception (2x 18 yr old lads) and told them what was going on and what to do. Basically inform all to cutomers that reception was closed due to an incident and that when they were finished they were to leave via the fire exit.
Next i got one of the lads to bring the defibrilator round to reception, without Mr X seeing it. After that I sent someone to meet the school bus and send them away as I couldn't allow 30+ primary school children to possibly witness someone receiving CPR.
All this happened within 5 mins of his wife leaving to get his mediacation.
He then went to the bathroom and after a couple of minutes i went to check that he was ok and I will never forget that smell (congealled blood). He was bleeding internally.
I called the ambulance.
As they were getting him into the ambulance his wife turned up with his medication.
The outcome was he survived and the surgeon said that my actions saved his life. I have always felt guilty over this as I waited before calling an ambulance, the signs and symptoms were there.
So why did I wait?
I have never spoken about this until today.
