Well today was a success!
I left home early then turned back as i forgot my bag of food!
Took it very easy on the first outing not wanting a repeat of last time!

Had a little off through the bomb hole in the morning doh! Normally the 5 sticks through that corner great but this morning just wasn't the case, luckly nothing got broke with my mini rally adventure

Had to block my external oil cooler as the oil pressure was sky high n just not getting hot enough as i dont have a thermostatic sandwich plate. So out came a cereal box and a trusty cable tie, this soon got removed in the afternoon when it started to warm up a bit

Rest of the day was grand and spent most of my time trying to get the going through corners dialed in, took a few mates out and got great comments about the brakes

Just wish i had a little bit more top end speed for the long back straight

Also converted 2 more friends into trackdays aswell as they took their cars out on track with me.

My mates took some photos so i'll post them up when he's uploaded them. And i've got some flithy off road photos of the car i'll upload at some point aswell

I've been looking at 5's :) ... I've always wanted one - however my pile of pennies is now going to have to go on a new boiler :(

It was flying all day really pleased with it :D

So much so i'm treating it to a set of steel wheels with 888's on them, should be nice and light compared to the heavy alloys that are on it now

The nova is just a daily drive my mate has lol it was his first time out on track and he loved it! all day he has had me searching for parts for it lol.

He has a cage fitted, bit of normal suspension lowering and a 1.6 lump under the hood but his cheap halfords pads and 1980's brake fluid men't he couldn't push too hard.
But i'm actually scared that when that thing has brakes, decent tyres and he is a bit more used to the track he will be keeping on me easily...

With track season coming up quick it was time to get spending

A new turbo technics Stage 3 hybrid replaces my new standard t2

Heres a comparsion of the new turbo vs an old spare t2 i've got kicking around for surcharges

New turbo kicks in around 3500rpm alot later than the t2 but i've now got awesome power all the way to 7000rpm and the car doesn't feel held back at higher rpms anymore and its made it more chilled to drive around

On the last track i had a little pool of coolant under the car and i cannot see where its coming from so I think my rad is leaking out the bottom as its quite old
So i've invested in a lovely 50mm alloy radiator without the built in oil cooler as i have and external mocal oil cooler fitted so it should stay nice and cool with the new turbo pushing it

Just need to tweek the carb a bit to get a bit more fuel through as its running around 12.2afrs which would probably be ok for a normal car but with it being used on track i want the fueling a little bit richer for safety
