Nice, I've replaced my car spending madness with snowboarding, but I will add that I do also have a fish tank :) - I need to get it up and running again at some point.

I had the very same same fish in my 240ltr and due to the size they grow and the mess they produce had to get the 500ltr to house them properly. I don't wish to be rude but a 100ltr is way way too small for any of those fish (apart from the loach). Dollars (saucer size when fully grown) and the silver shark (12"+) require a bare minimum of 400ltrs. That would be my guess as to why you can't keep the tank clean.

I think I might have to get rid of some of them to the local shop. It's strange how the external filter never seems that dirty though.

It's 250ltrs not 100ltrs but like you said still to small for the amount of fish.

Jon mate you have my absolute sympathy, And i think you are far from alone. I will for the first time ever be sorning old yella next month due to the crazy running costs!
That puffa is very funny/cool, kind of like an aquatic chinnock.:)
We here recently brought down our two fan tailed gold fish from rileys room into the living room and treated them to a new larger tank. Now they are in a larger tank they have doubled in size (as we knew they would) I just cant belive how quickly they grew! And like yourself i seem to spend an awful lot of time watching them and if im truthful i enjoy their characters.
It seems fish are the new bloke thing as it seems just about everyone i know are either out fishing or keeping them at home.:)

Nope definitely not alone, the Rex is jacked up in the garage whilst I am doing work on it and hording bits. So I bought our old Polo back and now I own that as a daily run about and car to collect car bits from couriers when they deliver during the day and I'm not in.

We all have other hobbies so its nice to see some of them on here.
