E36 Shed
Don't know how similar the E36 is to an E30 but on an e30 there is a brown temp sensor on thermostat housing this causes running issues and if not try removing the speedo sensor from the diff and see if this helps (I know it sounds stupid but i had a broken wire on mine and once fixed sorted it right out!!) Could also be a sticky ICV if it has one?
Rob
MAF and coilpacks would be my first point to check for the poor running
Fast Edward (or several others) should be able to mod your exhaust I would have thought as it probably just needs cutting and re-welding.
As for the wheels rubbing, just roll the bloody arches and stop whinging like a big girl. I know exactly how far you can roll them
If you fancy a rummage through my shed 'out back' I still have a number of E36 bits.

Well the old girl did us proud this weekend.
We went away to Lincolnshire for the weekend with the boot rammed full of kit and 4 adult sized people in and she didn't miss a beat. the arse end did look like it was slammed to the stops when everyone was in but it didn't matter to her, she just carried on as if it was a jaunt to Tescos.
I didn't get a chance to do anything to her before we left so the hesitation etc is still there, but it wasn't too much of a hindrance as i wasn't doing any spirited driving anyway with the fun police in the car
I will eventually get around to sorting the exhaust out and putting some of the bits on that I got from Obi Wan and then see how she fairs.
All in all though I am happy with how she performed over the 250 odd miles that we have done this weekend.
Well done "Shed"
