Bit more progress today :) first off, driving down the carriage way i heard a very quick and loud progression of scraping metal from underneath the car followed by a massive 'KLINK' noise, looked in the mirror and saw a piece of metal leaving the back of the car swiftly. Pulled into a texaco garage to have a look and saw another piece of metal dangling from the exhaust. The culprit, the second cat protective cover;

So that wasnt too bad after all :) checked the cat and everything is fine.

Progress again :D painted up the active spoiler blade and gave it a very quick offer up. the photos really don't do it any justice and also bear in mind that it will be another inch and quarter lower than it already is;

Also i was fed up of seeing that rusty fuel tank cover as it's quite noticeable from the rear;

knocked that back, applied some VHT = job done :smash:

Next up for the offering was the worn center caps, so off those came.

However painting these caps turned out to be a shitter :( when i went to toyota to get the body paint i asked them what paint was used on the standard wheels, they checked and said "oh it's the same as your body, colour code 199" bonus i thought, so of course now that i've painted them it turns out that 'wha wha' totally the wrong shade! fuck sake! so looks like i'll have to ask again or get a colour match from one of the wheels :)

Heatshields are for gays :thumbs:
Splitter looks awesome mate and get the bloody thing fitted for instant fanny magnet :D Sounds like the same OE paint shade man mixed your paint as I had. Mine is like a spectrum of red rather than the same thing.....

Looking good Dan-san.

all in due course mate, all in due course ;) just waiting back on the two brackets that complete this and then it's time to remove the front of the car :smash:
if it's that bad mate then it must be :rofl: still, i'll hopefully be able to find the right paint :) if not i'll paint the wheels to match.... joke.

Crikey Dan you are putting some work into bringing this up to scratch. Looks better with the front spoiler.:thumbs: I agree with you on the rear too. I had a simular thing with my old 944. The spare wheel well showed under the rear bumper and bugged the hell out of me until i painted it black. Its the little things that make such a difference, well done mate.

Now when you going to do the scratches on the rear bumper?:D

cheers Russ :D yeah, gotta put some effort into the old girl. it's slowly but surely getting more and more oem by the week :sifone: yeah that was a really annoying thing i found with the car as you say, just a horrible crusty pan ruining the rear appearence.

ahh the scuffs and scrapes that dot around both bumpers. all that will be sorted out by mr spray guy that me and dad know, he really does actually do a good job. watched him one day from start to finish doing a merc bumper and it was just awesome, exact match! :smash: and then ofcourse i'll have to get those lenses sorted wont i ;)
