Ive been sat smiling to myself thinking about how funny it was following Mike round this morning and watching the golf cock one wheel high in the air on one bend then barely toughing down before the other side cocks in the air on the left right chicane at the bottom of the mountain.:coolgleamA:

I had a pretty good day. I met mark early and we rode in convoy to the track. We passed through some pretty hideous weather and when I looked in my mirror mark's expression said it all. Thankfully the downpour passed quickly and by the time we got to Cadwell the track was dry and excitement levels high.

In the brief we were warned of a tsunami due for 1.00 but the worst we got was 15mins of drizzle which soaked the track and made the going slippery for an hour or so. On the wet track I told my passenger that the sharp left after the gooseneck would be the problem as I could not find any grip coming through there. Two laps later and one tank slapper and I decided to let phil through to find a dry line. I sat with him for a couple of laps then he did exactly the same as me!

After lunch the track was so sticky, I couldn't believe how much grip had come back so I piled in and put in some fast laps. I had a whale of a time and really found and stepped over the limits of the car, and my talent, but had great fun doing so on a fairly empty, dry track.

Towards the end (front the start if I'm honest) my brakes were going off and I was having to push harder and harder to scrub off speed and eventually I decided to pit. Good job I did, as I left the track and headed to the paddock I realised the throttle had become stuck on and I had to stop my car by jamming it in park! Some quick investigation found my battery lead had got caught and was holding it on! (thanks Trevor and phil) a cable tie later and she was ready to go again, but with the brakes how they were i decided to call it a day, it was 4ish anyway. I stopped til the end for the regular mothers meetings to be had with all the bp crew and then left at just after 5.

The driving standard if 90% of the drivers was excellent, plenty of space, clear indications to let you pass and General eticette was superb. Unfortunately a few drivers still insist on being a rolling roadblock, 1 particular van was good a this, even changing lanes to keep me from passing. And a pair of astras were driving like tits forcing me to brake to avoid an accident. But otherwise all good.

My parents even popped along to see what all the fuss was about so mum got a scare in the Nissan and mark took her out in the rx8 also. She thoroughly enjoyed both experiences and wants to drive next time.

Nice to catch up with plenty of the regulars, phil, Russ, Harry, mjp, etc..

Thanks to Dave for another well run day. I just wish he'd invite more caterhams;)

Once again another awsome trackday, cheers Dave.
Another boring A17 journey and we arrived at cadwell, after driving through drizzle for half an hour it was nice to find a bone dry track. After the normalities we got on to track and Finally i got to do more than ten laps without breaking the car, so that must be some sort of record!
The only problem we had all day was fuel surge, so need to find a way to sort this without having to carry a tonne of petrol! Overall driving standads fairly good, and everyone seemed to have a cracking day.

Cheers Russ fingers crossed everything will go ok.

Nice too meet a few more people, and hopefully catch up agen soon.

I think a great day was had by all, as Russ has said it was an early start no bacon butties this time but I did get a kiss and hug from my grandson so that more than made up for the lack of butties.

It was good to meet up with fellow BP members those known and too make new acquaintances, particularly Maxx who gave me some first rate pointers for the Silverstone GP circuit TD.

I think that everyone else has had their say about the day in general and what they got out of it so I will leave the day in general with them except to say thanks to Dave for yet another well structured and managed TD

So what did I get out of the day? I spent the morning session learning the circuit again braking, turn in points and with so many changes in elevation the general direction for the next part of the corner/sequence and gradually linking series of turns and sequences which resulted in being able to increase my speed.

By the afternoon session I felt much more comfortable to push on and work the car harder only to encounter the Subaru achilles heel "Fuel Surge" chiefly coming out of Barn which really destroyed the rund down to Coppice the upside of that was that I tried harder to carry more speed through the corner and into Charlies.

On the whole the one corner that gave me most trouble and I really was unable to get right was Barn any suggestions would be gratefully received.

It was a pleasure to have MJPs son in the car as a passenger, it concentrates the mind not to do something daft.

Russ and I had a bit of fun and he finally got past on the approach to Coppice I blinked first and backed off (I would say that I let him past as I would have been in Riley's bad books if I had damaged Daddies car) but in truth I couldn't resist the extra push and speed that "ole yella" has since the re-map, just such a shame about the turbo.

I am sure others have things to say about their day but for me it was great fun and a pretty big learning curve perhaps next time I would do better to get some instruction

Fit a second six cylinder fuel pump in the other side of the tank. On the E36 it's easy as you even have two holes where the back seats would be! I have heard lots of compliments about your driving Phil and I am sure that the BMW will be a great car for you on track

Don't turn in too early, balanced throttle on entry building throttle and releasing lock progressively at the apex :) This will push towards the run off on the outside but there is so much room you'll be fine.
