Great but Russ. I think unless you have or intend having other carbon bits on the car then paint it yellow as sometimes if it's just the bonnet that hasn't been done from a distance it can look like you had a problem with it and got a replacement in a different colour from a scrap dealers.

Both yours and Stuarts car look ace and will do together, how about some shots at the autotest event ?

Painting carbon is criminal and should hold a heavy penalty

Oh the old 'paint it vs flaunt it' debate :)
I love the the black and yellow look on most cars and Russ's car is no different. I think the current 'look' is just about spot on and a face lift front will make a nice update if you like that sort of thing. Seeing the two Impreza's stood inline at the MOT test did look great and I can see Gareth's point about how they look together.......

How about a compromise? Why not paint the exterior skin Cadmium yellow, probably the best colour in the universe, and leave the interior skin in carbon. That way you get bonus points from the carbon fetishists when the bonnet is up at trackdays and respect from mature adults the rest of the time ;)

Nice problem to have Russ...........we need to get these bad boys on a track; I reckon I can keep up until your oil is warm

Either way it's a nice predicament to have :coolgleamA:

Thank you for all the positive comments guys!:thumbs:But ive had a better look today and i belive its been painted due to a repair in the middle of the bonnet? When i washed the crap off and looked at it in the right light i spotted an oval patch in the middle that was flat and did n`t have any carbon texture. So i expect its been damaged and filled hence it being painted in the first place?:frown: I guess thats the gamble of egay? At least that put pay to any dilemas about re-painting and its still lightweight!;)

Still a shame as i would have liked a yellow coat with the weave showing through.

After he's been pushing me around Snetterton for a few laps, he'll have plenty of exposed bits on his bonnet :D

Little update.
I gave the old gal another oil change today (must be 500miles since the last one?) And got the whiteline anti-roll bar fitted and ive set it on the middle setting. I`m not sure if this is the best setting? I hope some of the other whiteline wearing subaru owners might correct me if this is n`t the best setting?;)
I also spent bloody hours rubbing down the new bonnet back to bare carbon over this last week.
So for all the carbon pervs (Tk:D) heres the money shot!:coolgleamA:

Alas due to the damage and the fact my original plan was always to have painted it -

So i did!;)
I must confess i am rather happy with the old gal`s facelift!:hurray: I just cant belive how heavy the old bonnet was! I know it must be psychosomatic but i swear the steering feels lighter now!:D
I just need to give her a bloody good clean and polish and it should be ready for cadwell on wednesday.
