Welcome back Francis.
Mazda did alright getting a sequential setup on the rx7 however it can be a pain in the ass to fix because of the vac hoses. Non-sequential is much simpler but I would miss the force of the second turbo coming in :)

So that's 3 scooby wagons we have on here now, more than saloons at the mo.

Interesting thread :)
Two things;
1) You will probably be aware of this but many people with RB's dumped the twin turbo set up to gain reliability. I guess this was due to two turbos creating more heat and more equipment equalling more potential things to go wrong.........having said that our own Monster is building a very, very nice R32 with twins right now.
2) Will you be using a six-speed gearbox from a hawkeye (check me out :) ) for the project? Are they the only OE gearboxes that will handle these figures?

Wagons are the way forwards Gareth.....you wait, you'll see Jon and James welding bits onto theirs soon :D

Hi Nik,

Long time no speak. Dogs are doing great. They love getting about. Now i've got the beast it's like being chauffered about in 5 star doggy hotel. They didn't mind being carried in the Subaru either but thats a bit more low rent and cramped..lol..

Hope you and the missus are doing well. :thumbs:

Stuart,

You sound like an old Subaru hand now...Excellent!!

6spd is the way forward. Ideally a JDM box as it runs lower ratios than a UK box and is equally as tough. 600ftlb breaking strain as standard is not to be sniffed at. Plus i get an LSD up front and DCCD. JDM newage boxes from 2003 onwards come with DCCD as opposed to UK boxes from 2005 only. Fitting the OEM DCCD controller won't be an issue as i'll use a JDM wiring loom and ECU. I'm already fairly intimate with Subaru wiring from the last project.

Rear and centre diffs will be changed to match final drive ratios although Subaru diffs across the board are atom bomb proof. I could use a built 5spd but i would be spending a shedload of money just to build a box that i know still has a good chance of failing. PPG state on their website the capability of their running gear for all vehicles they support and for Subaru 5spd they don't even come close to the standard 6spd.

My turbo's are being slung nice and low so no problems on the heat front and they'll get plenty of airflow cooling. Ceramic coatings on headers, turbine housing, downpiping and exhausts will ensure heat stays inside. I forgot to mention uppipes....because there won't be any as such ;) I already know the reliability of standard single scroll and twin scroll Subaru turbos is very good so i have no worries there either.

That's something Duncan likes to provide for his customers. Let him know when you get fed up with it...lol... I don't do pops and bangs, or flames...Well, maybe after a curry. :D

I'll just stick to mapping them ;)
