Sorry if it all sounds like an ad, but is there a better bang for buck? Discuss."
Just wait till Stu sees this!
:) I did see Andy's comments and would agree that they can be cracking value. I'm down on power and up on weight but inside on budget :) Grins from ear to ear are a bonus :D

Ive just got my hands on the final piece of ol yella`s facelift today, a new bonnet.:hurray: I had a 300 mile round trip to wantage via a very long detour due to the A43 being closed something to do with a little gathering at silverstone this weekend?:D
The guy said it might be fibreglass as it had been painted although a weave can be seen through it! So i took a gamble that it was actualy carbon fibre and bought it!

So the first thing i did when i got home was get the wet and dry out to check. And look what i found under the manky paint!:hurray:

Now do i rub it all back to bare carbon fibre? or as i expect i will simple repaint it cadmium yellow.

Why not rub it back and then one coat of yellow so you can still see the weave?

I would go yellow Russ. I suspect that the bonnet is wetlay carbon rather than dry stuff, so the lacquer layer on top of the 'weave' may rob some of the ability to see the texture through paint............won't know until I see it in the flesh but Russ will know what I mean.
Sounds good though Russ. I take it you took something more economical than the yellow missile.........bloody thing goes well mate. Can't get over those tyres! Huge grip.
