You will have to send the invoice back and say its not very christmassy.

Its even worse when you sit back after a while and add up all the invoices ( without the misses present )

So, GTR went back on Surrey Rolling Road today and Ryan mapped up the new tubs.

I simply cannot believe it's now over a year since I bought this car and I still haven't "used" it. The number of people who let you down in this game is unbelievably high and despite the shiny new turbs being hung on the car weeks ago, the **** who was changing the ally fittings on the swirl pot stopped play. I ended up having a new one one made up!!!!!!!!!!! Pics to follow.

I did actually take the car for a bit of a rag with the new tubs before it was mapped, my thinking being, it's mine and i can blow it up if i want to, and also that the new turbs are lots smaller than the old ones so it can only be rich....right? And they felt better so that made me happy.

And they are!! Woo Hooo, finally something has worked out how I wanted - i.e not ultimate power but good power and quick spool.

Ryan mapped it to 1.7 bar ( I wanted more but EGTs were getting up) and it made 606bhp and 500 torques, but importantly we were getting full boost at a smidge over 4k in 4th, and 5k in 2nd!!!!

We then took it out on the road and the boost cut on the syvecs kicked in straight away as the RR was obviously strangling it massively air wise. So it should be comfortably over that but for me it's all about the spool. I took it out for a caning tonight and it is a different car to the 2540s.

I'm now fully loving the GTR again and cannot wait to get her on track and start learning how to drive her :D:cheers2:

(please no blowing up comments as i've had elswhere already today) :cheers2:

magic news, with that HP it's a monster :) Mine was mighty quick at just 1.1 with 430+ BHP .. so 600 must be insane!!!

Glad you have restored the grin :) As Pablo says, moments like these fuel the tough times when nothing seems to go right for you.

I look forward to a passenger run at some point. Preferably on a track ;)

Thanks for the comments guys  Pablo and Stu, you're right, all the frustration does fade away once it actually starts coming together!!

Ben, yeah it goes pretty well :hurray:

Getting quite excited now as have a trackday booked on the GT circuit at Bedford on Monday. I've never been there before so looking forward to what looks a great track (4.5 miles of it), and hopefully the car will perform.

I was a bit nervous of the tight noise limits at Bedford (hence i've never been) but realised (i'm a bit slow sometimes) that I know someone who works there and a quick phone call thursday had me up there on Friday with the GTR where they noise tested it both static and driveby. Amazingly it passed both with flying colours so I should be good to get on most curcuits with the car which again, is an excellent result.

One more job is to fit the EGT guage and Ryan has a couple of tweeks to do to the map - I've sent him the data log so he's going to adjust and send it back but if that doesn't work he can map the car remotely on Monday while i'm at Bedford via the circuits WiFi - a feature of the Syvec that I think is seriously cool

So fingers crossed for Monday and here are a couple of pics - the new swirl pot, fuel lines and connections are in, and a cheeky shot of it on the Rollers :sifone:
