As per the Santa Pod post, I wanted to give my thoughts and feelings on Dan's new steed.

Initial impressions were that the car sits a lot lower than it looks in photos. I like the OE+ look and Dan's car underlines why. With some spacers on, I really reckon it will look spot on and Dan is talking of getting the active aero front splitter which will finish things off wonderfully.

Moving on to things when the key turns; the noise! Oh my God! It's like the old HKS system I had on the R33 turned up to 12! Bassy and deep in tone that seems to indicate the capacity but so smooth; Dan will never want a four cylinder after this straight six. The interior was really nice and well put together, the condition was superb with only a really show and shiner finding room for criticism. The Bilsteins were very solid but there was still a large degree of compliance over all but the most severe ruts and ridges. The R154 gearbox seemed to be solid and direct with Dan only fluffing only one gearchange all day ;)

Overall, I am very impressed. Factor in the value for money and he has bought himself a cracker. A lovely car for daily duties and something that he is rightly proud to own. All this at 23 eh??

Cheers Stuart :) glad you liked the car mate and that you understand why i go on about it so much and why i insist on it staying in standard form ;) no way will i go to a 4 pot again through choice, it's just so much more smoother with a good deal of grunt when i need it. as for that gear change, wtf was that all about! talk about out of the blue :D

Oh i'm 24 by the way ;) but not a bad progression. Mini > MR2 > Supra

Dan, you prob don't know but one of my best pals from Skool is Paul Whiffin, aka Whifbitz, so if you want anything for this then I'm sure some pics from back in the day will persuade him to sort me out a price for you

Ahh nice one :D yeah i've heard the name and the company, but didnt know you was linked ;) cool, thanks for the offer mate. I'll let you know if i need anything

So today i sorted out a load of niggles :) i raised the scilencer up, moved/padded the rear tool area in the boot. re fitted some of the interior trim back in place properly because the 'DOM' guy who owned it first couldn't be arsed to do it properly. and replaced some fuses :)

here's the scilencer photo from when i got it, to todays raising :smash:

much better :)

oh and also, i couldnt help it today. i had to go to the place where Smokey Nagata did his burnout just outside of Thetford and take a photo :D

In other news i have ordered a genuine HKS Hybrid panel filter to go inside the stock box, and the new discs+pads are on their way.

Good work Dan, yep a nice panel filter is the way to go and should give a few bhp more.

Not seen that vid of the Top Secret car, is it the same one where he got banned doing 175 mph :)

I spy you with your Japanese plate on :) Great idea for a photo opportunity.

Good tweaks to the car. I knew that rattle from the boot was driving you mad but the first few weeks of car ownership are all about fault finding and getting little jobs sorted out. You're to blame for me spending hours on various forums looking at Supras...........I even have a white Supra as my wallpaper right now.

I just couldn't get my head around how wide the rear arches are when you look in the wing mirrors! (Full on 996 GT3 look)
