Twins or single..........the old debate :)

I always liked response and predictable performance over a large 'launched out of a cannon' slug of performance at stratospheric revs, but to each their own. There is no doubting that the GTR does seem to be a less complicated set up to work on with one Elvis as opposed to two but unless you go for something like a T04 or GT35 you may well experience too much lag........... please bear in mind that my knowledge was never that good with GTR's and now that average knowledge is three years out of date!!! :D

Ross or Gary @ APT have done very extensive research on turbo's, flow rates, spool times etc and I know Ross imports systems and turbos from the States now. Could be worth a PM mate.

Photos when possible mate; I've just been looking at another R32 with a nice spec for great money and yours could be just the inspiration to get me into a lot of trouble ;) (probably not but it's fun to daydream)

Try the new BW EFR turbos that you mentioned and if that set up doesn't impress you (you won't know if you don't try) then consider selling up and looking elsewhere
[img] Q. If you were stranded on a desert island, who would you rather be stranded with....Ray Mears or Bear Grylls?

A. No question....Ray Mears....you could make a shit load more stew out of that tubby little fecker [/img]

Yeah well the 2540's werent exactly lag free in terms of what you'd expect for a tt set up. In fact they came in with a v satisfying bang, pretty old skool, the problem being that full boost was around the 5k mark which fun as was, could leave you whistling and waiting - I remember chasing Daz's tuned 996 turb and he would literally jsut drive away, then I'd get boost and reel him right in, and repeat.............. haha!!

flow rates (and the maps etc that i've been looking at recently which jsut look like x-rays of potatos to me) don't mean a lot. I just wanna know what set up, i.e single or twin, and which turb/s are going to give me quick spool and good power - not lookin gfor max HP as it's a track car not show etc.

As you say, it could be worth a pm to those guys..

I'm totally with you in theory Pez, but they're f******g expensive so I need to be committed to it, saying that, if they do what is being claimed I reckon they'll be good.

Will be interesting to see what breaks on the first outing with them doing their stuff tho :banghead::banghead::banghead::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Anybody on GTROC etc had first hand experience? Or maybe someone in OZ? I hear what you're saying though chief, it's a big commitment spending even more $ like that.

Decision Made.

Shuffle and Stall irritations were down to the turbos basically being pretty fooked. So they're now at AET for new cores.

HAving spoken to a (high) number of people, for once I was talked out of the most expensive option of new style single tub and twin wastegate mani blah blah, and also talked out of the stalwart T04Z type kits, of which i was offered a couple. Have decided to stick with the big(ish) twins as they'll make the power i'm after easily and also have a good spread of power. Once they're in as new nic I reckona bit of mapping will get the boost in as early as poss and eliminate the shuffle (not that the shuffle really bothers me as long as it's not affecting anything), and when i was at snett with the car I never noticed the lag, it was only at brands and I'm sure I can learn to drive round that. It notices on the road but then the number plates will be in the bin soon so who gives a f***
