What a crazy week it's been. We took the car to classic ford at santa pod last sunday with a tired turbo and the intention to have fun. That we did.....Early Monday morning (last week) Alan got a phone call. Fast Ford mag had invited us to attend the first running of their group thrash....Fight Club....
Obviously we were going, but some last minute planning was needed.
1. Wipers had stopped working, so that need to be sorted.
2. Change rear brake pads and bed in on the way down.
3. Change oil catch can.
4. Turbo?
We decided to bite the bullit and buy another turbo and then just change the core.
BUT..............
What a fantastic day, it consisted of 1/4 miles runs, as many as you wanted and a handling circuit. With points awarded for where you finished, although we won't know where we finished till the mag comes out 27th July.
Fight club was apptly named as the casualties were high.
Towards the end of the day Alan and a mate (from Time Attack), wre going for it brutely, following each other around the handling circuit. Let's just say that they were both as brutal to the cones as they were to the cars. So they headed off for the track and went head to head, 4 runs back to back.....what a laugh...and best of all we drove the car home:hurray:
Sorry but under the rules of fight club can'r give out any times or posts pics or vids till after the mag comes out:banghead:
