Fair play Jon, I thought of you and yours when I saw that car
This thing is based on the Opel Roadster and packed a beautiful mid mounted V8
Ready for some more hardcore?
Oh..........what is this? Another one!!
All weekend these guys lapped within tenths of one another until the very last run, where the Valvoline one ran over a second faster! Can anyone say sandbagging!!
Chequer plate alloy diffuser
A proper Cupra with non-spacehopper ride height!
This was the real race version
Proper wheels too
If you had a twin turbo 911 race car, where would you park it overnight? Yeah, in the road!!
Bear in mind that this is about 3 foot wider than normal!
More roads and more cars
The village of Eschdorf had well and truly been invaded and the locals seemed genuinely proud to have us all there
Heard of an NSU? Search for these on Youtube and be prepared for a shock!
I can't help looking through these pics and smiling. There were hundreds of cars like this and we haven't even got to the racing yet!!!
So after many hours of walking around, looking at cars, exchanging ideas of what to do to our cars when we got home and just getting over excited, we decided to do the only sensible thing
DRIVE THE COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was likely to be a once in a lifetime opportunity so we all jumped in Rob's Audi (very nice it was too; thanks buddy ) and made our way down this twisting, torturous track
KW were still big sponsors and we *ahem* met into them on the track!
Naturally, having got away with it once, we thought we would play sensible and DRIVE BACK UP IT!!!
We later found out that this guy was the Czech driver who owned the V8 Opel Roadster thing and he had never driven the track before! Practice makes perfect eh?
After all of the that cocking around, and with a 5 something AM start from Folkestone we decided to get a bit relaxed, so we got the beers out of the 'fridge' and got stuck in
Lots of these and then an amazing steak set the day off a treat! What on Earth would it be like when cars were heard and seen in anger? Could it get any better?
