MLR Sprint Series, Rd 2: Castle Combe

Post by Danny@APT »

Sod this wedding malarky- we're off to Castle Combe @ 10am to prepare for Saturday's Sprint. Which may involve beer. :D

We'll have the live timing link up on here so anyone interested can see Logan's progress (Ross won't be running unfortunately, nor Gary- bet you didn't see that coming Stu? :smilielol5:).

Live Timing will be here on the day (Saturday)- http://www.lancerregister.com/sprint_results.php

Course layout should be as below-

At least he beat that WRC Hyundai  9th overall is bloody good going and I think he was second in class too.

Well done guys.

Well done guys.

Were you on the sherberts before me and Gary on Friday? You were looking at the last results for Silverstone... Combe wasn't until today- and we're just now home! :D

Logan was 2nd in class and 6th overall, while still settling into the car and ironing out any handling/balance issues. More to follow...

Nice pics and vid, the car sounds great. Well done to Logan for the result and you guys for the car.

What were the tyre marks going off into the grass just after the start though ?

Cheers, APT/Rosssport did well out of the day with Ross' turbo kits on the top cars in classes B and C as well as the 2nd and 4th-placed cars in D, and the Winner of C being another one of ours.

No idea about the tyre marks- they were there when we started! Unfortunately one chap did find the wall just after the final corner, mangling every panel on the driver's side plus ripping off the oil cooler. Gary got him mobile again and ready for the drive home. ;)

You convince him!

Some in-car footage would be handy though.

Nice pics and vid Danny. Shame a fluffed the launch on that one. had a V box in for 1 run and I managed a sub 4 sec 0-60 which wasn't mega either really but a 8.7 sec 0-100mph which isn't too shabby I'd say!

Good day, and starting to get to grips with the car, so fingers crossed I can keep getting a bit better as I settle into the car. a few more suspension tweeks going on before the next round and hopefully we shall be up there again.

Really enjoying developing the car with the guys at APT and its great to have theirt support at the events, and in the bar the night before!! hehe

Just over a week till the next event at Teeside which starts in the afternoon for practice, with the timed runs being done from 7pm onwards....should make it interesting!!

Very well done Logan, Gary and Dan. One of the most competitive sprint events in the UK, so if you do well in that you know that you are doing something special. Teeside at night should be a giggle :)
