What a supurb day!:hurray: Well done dave and thank you!
I`m knackered so will keep this brief. All the normal bp crew were on fine form. caterhams are cocks! (i thought i would say it before anybody else:D) My scoob pissed its self all over the paddock floor, but Harrys was on fine form and ready to save my day! Thank you mate!
And what a wonderful-brilliant track the new 300 is! I am totaly done in but grinning from ear to ear.

Well, what to say! Firstly big thumbs up to opentrack for organising another cracking day. And thanks to the msv crew for recovering all the broken caterhams so quickly. I had a great morning on the track and really enjoyed the new circuit. The new bit is great fun, very technical but very rewarding. I was gradually building up speed and learning the lines (while avoiding those pesky caterhams) and got up to a fair pace when i had some major brake loss on the entrance to the esse's but made it through with a bit of pumping :shag: I pitted in to discover I had lost the face of a rear pad and cooked the brakes nicely. Thanks to eddy for trying to sort me out with pads so I could get out there but it just wasn't to be.

In the afternoon I had the rare opportunity to ride shotgun so Andy took me out in his Audi. Surprised is not the word! Andy was slinging it into corners like it was a golf, and thanks to r888s and some steel balls it got round. Although the car was a little heavy for the tyres and he had ware marks half way up the writing. The other thing that surprised me was the way it exited the corners, that 4wd put the power down so well!

My next trip out was with mark in his standard rx8, for anyone who hasn't been in one - you must. The handling was superb, so well balanced and bloody quick for a standard car. Mark hadn't done a track day for 4 years but soon was in the swing of it.

I left about 4.30 to limp home with very little back brakes, and a grinding noise. Also I quickly discovered - buggered turbo gaskets. They hadn't been noticeable on track but I guess once it cooled down and everything shrunk back to normal size, it was obvious. By the time I got home it was deafening and majorly down on power (it took and age to get to 50!) so I guess it's the one between the head and manifold as I had no boost at all.

No big problems really, at least i was at snetterton when they failed again and I haven't got anything planned for the car until July. So I will probably leave it parked up until a week before Cadwell and then rush around to get it sorted. :)

It was great to catch up with the usual suspects and thanks to all that were trying to get me back on track for the afternoon.

What a stunning circuit we now have on our doorstep the new section is amazing very technical with a good range of slow and fast bends with excellent grip levels and we still have two superb straights to wind the wick up on.

Such a shame that ole yella took to pissing itself it could have been worse though we could have been out on track and lost the coolant at speed and ended up in the scenery.

It wasn't all caterham drivers who behaved like Prats just that one group well done to Dave for sorting them out.

Russ put in some pretty hot laps in his stand-by car and I was most grateful for his sat-nav expertise far too many corners for me to remember

A superb day and as ever a credit to track days by Opentrack thanks Dave

As above really. It was my 2nd time at the 300 and it just gets better and better (still a lot to learn though!). The Caterham drivers (wankers) did their best to ruin the day for most others, BUT when they were banned from track almost everyone in the pitlane cheered :smilielol5: Good call from James and Dave to get that one sorted :sifone:
Good to chat to Russ, Harry, Eddy etc, Hopefully see you guys back out there soon :coolgleamA:
I'll post some vids/pics tomorrow.

Hmmm.. Caterhams.. i won't ramble..

You guys looked like you were having a whale of a time, i distinctly saw a rear wheel of TK's 205 off the ground on a few places too!

I had a problem with my brakes.. brake pedal flat to the floor at the end of the main straight and had to use the run off but apart from that and a couple of niggles it was a great day. The new circuit seems alot harder on the car though.

A big thanks to Dave, the rest of the opentrack crew and MSV staff. When the announcement went out about banning 'that group' of drivers and people cheered and hooted their horns that made my day, lol!!
James is looking for the next trackday...

Evening Chaps.

Well what a day. First of all i would like to say a big thanks you for all the support the forum gave Opentrack there today. It was great to see so many great cars not only looking good in the paddock but also looking and sounding good out on track.

As you know i was quiet busy today with various matters so i did not have to much time to stop by and chat to as many people as i would have liked, however such is life.

Anyway i just wanted to say a big thanks to you all again and also a big thanks to all the MSV staff on the day who were kept very busy during the day, which of course will save some of them a trip to the Gym this week.

Again many thanks to everyone.

Dave.
