To be honest I have no idea which specific engine is in it. I am off to look at the car next week and will let you know. I guess you may be interested in the engine?
Stuart, car will stay road legal and be a sunny day fast road car and a track hack.
Was wondering about fitting my Daihatsu engine into it, but would need to have a bellhousing made to mate it to a gearbag.
Kit Car engine choice
@Warboys,
The pinto has a single rocker cover, the TWINKY that Pab's will be has a much wider cam cover with DOHC embossed on it.
The Pinto unit is worth breaking down as the 205 blocks are sought after as is the injection head. The DOHC unit is not worth as much as they are not as tuneable and prone to head gasket failures........

Went to look at it last night, its in fairly good condition considering how its been stored (outside, without weather protection!). Car has never been finished and is a way off being driveable, but that doesn't put me off, I have the ability to finish it.
The engine in it at present is a DOHC Efi sierra unit, however, the current owner wants to take this out before selling it, he has promised the engine to someone else. I am not fussed about that as I wouldn't have kept it anyway.
So the issues are, figuring out if it can ever be road legal, the SVA is now an IVA and I have no idea on what the issues are with that. Need to do some research. Then its the sale price, the current owner has no idea and has asked for a ridiculous sum (high) and I was half expecting it to be ridiculously low. There are tidy, completed examples available for circa
