I know you'll tell me to read the link you sent but how do the class sturctures work, i.e what can I enter and what can I/can't i do to the car?

Got a lid and gloves tho :sifone:

Basically split down into car type (road going/modified/racing) engine capacity and tyre choice.

Your GTR, if it's anything like the Zed would go into modified and the turbocharged engine capacity basically puts you into the big boy stuff. If you're keeping the car road legal, you may be able to squeeze down into Road going but Logan can confirm that. Tyre choice is a bit more complicated but the nice thing is, you can join a club and as long as your car is safe and you have the right clothing (lid, gloves, boots and suit) you will be be able to compete. They will simply tell you the class that you qualify for and away you go. If your car ain't road legal, you can get an MSA log book which will help your resale too ;)

The final MLR Sprint is at Snetterton, though I doubt September 24th would count as "near future". :D

The MLR are running a seperate class 'G' for other cars this year (there were a few Impreza's and an Ariel Atom), though I'm not sure whether you need to be a member. The MLR Sprint section can be found here- http://www.lancerregister.com/forumdisplay.php?f=116
Finishing off the Ford ;)

well the gtr will be similar to the zed (although i'm hoping much faster) and at the mo is still road legal which is under debate so it looks like i have options, and tyres of course can always be changed.

right, will check out the links while awaiting the return of the car, cheers all, basically once it's running i want to use it so this sounds like a great option...

I had a great day, yes and i'm hooked. Don't know when i'll be able to get to another one though, due to work. I saw the tryes on the MLR, but i'm running to a budget, because i'm not sure if i have a job, i worked in Libya for 10yrs, so not sure whats happening, don't think i'll be going back. need to get the car set up more for sprinting if i do. I'll have to go see Gary about getting the camber set up, but as it's my every day car, can't go too mad.
Thanks for your help as well.

Nice one Puggsy, hope you sort the work thing out and can come out to play again. I'm sure gary will see you right on the set-up front. When I used to use my 6 on the road I have -2.25 deg FR Camber. 1mm total toe. -1.25 deg RR camber. parallel toe. Should help you get going. Also if you haven't got one, an uprated rear ARB is a good add on. Fast Eddy can sort you a deal or Gary@APT can both do whiteline stuff.

But tyres are king, so if you want to get faster then spending on tyres will see a big gain.
