A small, but persistant, oil leak from the front corner of the head we were hoping to be from the exhaust manifold studs, turned out to be from a faulty headgasket. So off came the head again.

Swings and roundabouts really, as the kick in the crotch from having to redo the work over again, has been beneficial in that we were able to see the heavily skimmed head and lumpy cams on a stock gasket was not giving enough piston-to-valve clearance, and everything has been getting a little intimate.
