1989 205 Gti 1.6

Post by Ben »

Righty, my dad has bought a new car so our trusty old 205 Gti 1.6 8v is up for grabs.

My parents are registered keepers number 2 and 3 of this car - we've had it since 22,000 miles. I need to verify current mileage but I think it's in the region of 140,000 with FSH.

Highlights

Sorrento Green - one of only 220 1.6's in this colour
Full leather, faux leather wheel :)
Sunroof
FSH
Unkerbed standard alloys with new tyres
Electric windows (well one works anyway)
Run's fine and true
MOT until Jan 12
Tax until Jan 12

Lowlights
Had a couple of bumps over time and been repaired
Got dints and dinks all over the place
Rust in a number of places
Heater sounds like a chainsaw - well last time I drove it, it did
one of the window motors somewhat iffy

The best thing for this car is a good trashing on a trackday - hence why you horrible lot came to mind :)

Photo's to follow.

So how much for this standard classic .... your's for

Doh, if only it were the 1.9 i'd be sorely sorely tempted for a track car :(

An absolute bargain that is!

Well I have to say in order of Pm's .. Lee is first so far :).

The dinks are basically carpark dents and careless people.

The rust is around the edge of the window rubber on the boot. If anyone knows 205's you'll know their design fault is the flexing of the shell resulting in minor cracks in the paint above the rear windows, these in time allow rust to form .. I'll have pics tomorrow.
