It's hard to explain mate, but basically it's recreating a design that I had on a set of wheels back in 1999. It's just something that Alan keeps bringing up every year so i thouht why not.

I'll see if Alan can knock something up give an idea of how they will look.

Close mate, close.

The whole rim will be blue, the same blue as the stripes on the car. We can't go too wild with the colour of the wheels as it would distract away from the brakes, not good for the sponsor.

on saturday gordon turned up in the car and the sunroof brackets had broke
do to the amount of rust in the frame.

Image

so went to see the guys next door, beavis and butt-head and asked if they
had an old bonnet and thankfully they did in black wahoo.
this is off a MK6escort
Image

after cutting up bonnet tapped it on the roof and marked underneath
so knew were to fold the metal
Image

spent a few hours bending the metal so it would fit in the gap, there was plenty of
cursing, hammering, bending going on but hafter all the it fit quite well
so drilled holes and pot rivited it to the roof and then put some
sealent around the top to make it waterproof
sorry no pic of it in but ill take some next saturday.

here is a pic of the new pannel in the roof
Image

got the graphics made up last week for the caparo brakes and put it on the rear quarter.
Image

gordon had a boost controller so yesterday i bolted it to the dashboard
and wired it all up. after going thru the booklet the light is the same colour
as the dials so all match's.
Image

now for the absolute sh1t news, we were remapping the car on the dyno
and things were looking very good indeed as at 5100rpm the car was
pulling 339bhp and graph was still pointing up when he shut off, however
the was a screatching from under the bonnet and again the turbo has shat its load.
plan of action is that gordon is going to fit new turbo with internal
wastegate, remove old wastegate, fit new down pipe.
on a possative not the turbo being fitted is well suited to 1/4mile drag
racing as it kicks in sooner which will help if i go against a eagotesticle friend within the xr club
