front bumper hasnt been touched other than ripping out the black rubbers.

thats most of the work we can do before getting it mot'd so i just got to put a drivers interior trim back on during the week and swap the wheels over for mot friendly ones,

Fingers crossed i make it to the mot station without having to call out rac to save me

well the new wheels are on and looking sexy also checked for scrubbing as i dont like scrubbers

the rears are 100% fine even with my brother jumping in the boot

And the front clear fine when the car is jacked up.
When on the floor, they clear.
The front of the tyre misses the chassis leg fine but the back is kinda close possibly cardboard thickness maybe a touch thicker but for a mot they will be fine.

Down the road with the tyre flexing i recon it may scrub slightly nothing some 10mm spacers and longer bolts cant fix i'm sure

Also fitted some new number plates to make it look even better

The smoking issue is the only thing concerning me now!

If the car doesn't stop smoking when going down the road I'll have to abandon the mot :(

But my suspicions are that the smoking is being caused by 2 things,
1 being a knackered turbo oil seal much like my 200 and
2 being the old oil which had water mixed in getting past the rings and being burnt off making it seem worse.
The smoking went away when left to idle at 2000 rpm for 15 minutes like the flush asked for, which gives me the idea its the turbo oil seal

Fingers crossed i'm right or i need to change the heads over and get a new turbo sooner than i thought

OK slight problem.....

got part way to mot and got a bit excited hitting boost as i do and i didn't watch the boost gauge (like a fool) which later i found was going off the scale and now i've got a tractor engine :(

11bar compression on 1, 2, 3 and 10bar on 4
think the 6 quid 5 year old just for testing headgasket blew up whoops

time to get oily/greasy again :D

Indeed :D

Shame as its not going to be running for a while now :( new head and turbo, might change the piston rings and oil pump undecided on them at the moment

The spare head i've got is crap, needs at least 3 new valve seats and valves, then maybe some welding up of corrosion pitting and skimming down again

The head i've just taken off needs skimming, valves re-lapping in, new valve stem oil seals and a water pump bolt drilling out and time-serting or helicoiling

A new head all cleaned skimmed, tested, new valves etc is

I'd ask as you never know it may be mint or it might be just like how mine was...slightly rusty in places :D

Thanks for the comments guys

Had a result with the current cylinder head.... its mint! apart from the warp
the valves are new and also the guides are new,
Scotchbrited the valves off the minor coking and lapped them all in which took hardly any time at all and the brother ali cleaned it down so its a bit more tidy looking

The head got sent away at lunch time today on holiday at the engineering shop its getting,
skimmed headgasket side
skimmed inlet gasket side for good measure
Removal of broken snapped water pump bolt

Will order a new t2 turbo on monday from gt tuning. New liner seals and oil pump from renault, and then look for some uprated piston rings, big end bearings and arp rod bolts/nuts.
Hoping the its i ordered from cgb motorsport will turn up next week aswell.

Whilst waiting for that lot to turn up i need to
weld a lambda boss onto the down pipe ready for my aem wideband to go in
Clean the engine bay down maybe a lick of paint if i can sweet talk the brother :)

So the head is back home looking very sexy indeed 8) and only skimmed 8 thou off on both headgasket side and inlet gasket side to get it flat so the head is down to 73.7mm thick from 73.9mm

The spare head i've got.... well its a paper weight :(
Corrosion pitting in the head where the fire ring sits, det marks a plently a few inlet valves and valve seats and the valve guides worn a bit too much. So glad the other head is good or i'd be up the swanny

Got a bit carried away taking pictures of the heads lol
