TA forum is back on line but the whole thread about pirelli tyres has been deleted. I take it they didn't approve:boxing_smiley:

http://www.timeattack.co.uk/forum/viewt ... f=17&t=963

Still no info about the issues raised, pricing, size availability and 3 types of tyres.

However I have just realised that it says pirelli are the contol tyre for the 2011 season, so maybe, hopefully things will change for 2012:hurray:

been looking for some tyres for my road car and been looking at federal tyres, has anyone used these? be interested to hear your thoughts

been doing some reserch into the company and what they produce and i found these road/track tyres and they look pritty good and not overly
expensive.

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Motorspor ... /1790/7907

and these are a good compromise for road and track use and the ones im
thinking of for my road car

I am currently using Federal 595RSR on the rear of my M3. They're a good budget end track tyre with good wear characteristics.

They aren't in the same league as the proper track tyres e.g. 888, A048R but they are better IMO than the budget Hankook RS2 tyre.

sounds like a right mess, the size issue is utterly ridiculous in my opinion, you either have a control tyre or you don't, you don't have 3!!!!

I put toyos on the skyline as i know they're good and in the back of my mind I've been thinking I might enter a local TA round as a one hit wonder should it all be actually running later in the year and take on the whifbitz supras (from a personal perspective rather thana class perspective of course) so they covered all the bases for 2011

However, i'm not changing them for pirellis just to do that so it looks like thats me out then...
