APT Saxo- The end is....... now!

Post by Danny@APT »

It all began back in mid 2010. After numerous digs at the APT Evo's near permanent home up in the air on one of the ramps, Gary decided that what was needed was another track toy for use when any issue prevented the Evo from taking part. It would also give other members of the APT 'group' something to play in , rather than standing around getting cold at Snetterton (lets face it, Christian was never going to hoon about Snetterton in his Megane). ;)

So, one evening while under the influence of Strongbow, Gary found himself doing what should never be done while drunk.............scanning through ebay.

A few hours later, he owned a cheap Saxo VTS with failed power steering.

The week after, Christian and Mike (Debbie's father) were sent to pick up the car near Terrington St Clement and bring it back. Around 2 hours later, Gary got a call from Christian at the roadside of the A17- The car had vague steering, knocking suspension, wouldn't idle and had now lost power (fair to say Christian was unimpressed)! Luckily Ross was close-by with his Land Rover and trailer at hand, so the Saxo was unceremoniously left where it died for Ross to take back to his. A few days later things were quiet at APT, so Gary and I set out to Ross' to work out what was wrong with the Saxo and drive it home. Gary borrowed the Fiesta hack from the lads in the end unit, and the roadtrip was on

Good read mate, sums up the "not missing out on a track day no matter what" attitude that is typical and great about this place.

Cheers guys.

Next update will pretty much bring the tale upto it's current state (not much has gone on without track time to prep for, plus the Evo development is moving along nicely now).
