On Board Filming

Post by hoodedreeper »

Hello,

What are the rules when it comes to on board filming during a track day? Are camcorders allowed?

Cheers

Have a word with Safety James he should be able to point you in the right direction regarding mounting cameras in the car

Sadly no suction mounts are allowed anymore :banghead:
Something like this is ok though...

I've got a lil handy cam that came with a suction mount and another mount. But sadly the other mount is too small to fit on my cage. Will get something knocked up and that'll be clamped to the hoop.

Is this allowed or has it got to be bolted to something?

As Jon and Harry said, the laws were tightened (get it! :D ) considerably in 2009-2010 regarding this. Have a look at the link provided and if you have any other queries about it, it's probably best to either PM Safety James on here (One of the team at Snetterton MSV) or call the circuit on 01953 887303

The mount doesnt fit the cage as the cage is too big. Can you measure the Metro cage to see if its the same diameter? (would think they're roughly the same?)

You can get the clamp variation of the suction mount now. You just need something such as a cage or harness bar to clamp it to.

Mine fitted to the harness bar:

Yes pretty sure they are the same diameter. Shouldn't be difficult to rig something up. Daniel on here did some good work making some mountings.
