You is da voice of reason, Logan. Occasionally I consider further mods to take the scoob from 360 to the 400bhp that the turbo should be capable of, but realistically it has enough considering the chassis, on the road at least.

So, have you still got the 6?

Hmmm, mixed feelings at the moment personally, had to really give them some stick to bed them in properly, and now they are qiueter but still not 100% sure on cold bite, seem to need a couple of applications to start working to full potential, then they definetly have a decent bite.

sorry fo da street talk boi!

Yes, I hear you Andy, and then at 400bhp your box is on the limit etc etc.....
Its a never ending game, and if your happy with how it drives and its not broken then no point in fixing it! Don't get me wrong, I did enjoy my Type RA but just for me in so many ways the 6 I bought trumped it.

I sold the 6 last October to not buy another Japbox.......whoops! PLan was to maybe look into a single seater or have this year off but that all went out the window when I went to see the car I have now!

Saturday saw me drive up to APT for a day on the car to ready it for the cage install.

See pics attached, spend the day chipping sound deadening off the floor pan with various hand injuries (softy office moneky hands!!) and also Danny installed some new rear pads to the car as it still had the original K sport wooden blocks in there, and they were also siezed in there which wasn't helping with the braking!! Cheers Danny for the help. Brakes now work loads better!

Car felt quite perky on the way home with just one bucket seat in it!! and bloomin loud!

More updates after next week hopefully

Time for a wee update.

Lots been going on at APT headquarters!!! My car is now no longer a 2.3 and the engine is a Long stroke 2.0 to allow me to drop down a class in the MLRSS.

Lots of other stuff done and changed, a few pics of it after todays work. Engine is now nearly ready to run, just need a rad top hose

My main job today was installing the dash and interior back in and the cage. As you can see the dash is now flocked etc, all sound deadening removed and then bare carpet re-installed to keep the noise down if I have to drive to an event.

Other stuff done that I can remember:

Engine rebuild with 2.0 ltr crank, Oliver Rods and keeping the Wiseco Pistons
RS Rear Diff kit
Rear Whiteline adjustable ARB (thanks Eddie!)
Zirotec coated Manifold
Rear arches rolled and sprayed, also engine bay tidied up paintwise by H-tech!
Tein Monoflex with EDFC
OMP WRC seats
OMP WRC steering week with NRG hub
TRS superlight 4 point Harnesses
Koyo Radiator

Probably loads more that I've forgot!

Massive thanks to Gary and Danny for there hard work so far and help and putting up with me getting in the way for the last month or so!! And Ross W for all the bits!

Nice progress Mr Black. The cage design is interesting in a road car; have you driven one yet with those vertical bars from the A pillar? I can't help picturing one hell of a blind spot and you'll barely be able to see over the wheel anyway :)

Piss taking aside, I am really looking forwards to seeing you and the 7 on track this year. Does the 'long stroke' refer to the price tag of the engine? :D If so, did Gary use lube?

Stuart, hopefully I won't need to look out the side windows!! No idea as yet as it hasn't got seats in it yet!!

Long stroke, nice one!! This engine should like revs, which is nice!!

3 weeks till the first MLR Sprint, going to be an interesting first event!! Lots of learning to do.
