The VXR
Fast Eddy wrote:Agree with Gareth, The VXR's are great value. The latest generation on Vauxhall engines are brilliant. The chassis still needs work and an lsd needed where not fitted like on Arron's Astra, but that is all doable.
I look forward to seeing Arron's car on track this year, it should be very capable.

Chassis is now fully sorted mate dont worry 8) cant say how or with what but trust me it's amazing now not quite 197 on KW V3 cilovers good but very very good
And the Quaife LSD works amazing .
It will be alot diffrent from when it was out at cadwell last eddy

Im at Brands on the 25/02/11 if you can come eddy but i really dont like it as a track
20bhp! you up'ing the boost then thats quiet a mod without a remap?A2ON wrote:Dunno really mate the standard pipework now is very restrictive .
Removing the air con and fitting the race spec cooler should se a gain of about 20bhp at current spec .

" Uh Betty you should of seen this car in Ely today!! it had stickers and stripes
all over it, and when it started up, the noise!!!, I could feel my teeth rattling!!!"
Yeh its so restrictive its untrue really .
Thats combined with the other mods . But wham what i have seen from other VXR's of a similar spec the ecu self learns to a certain degree and acctually has quite large learning tolerances but tbh it does what it does lol if i get 1bhp but it drives better then im happy
bhp figures are for the pub hahahaha
just not sure if to drop the air con or not and fit the smaller cooler.

From previous experience I would always leave the car in a state of tune that will either;
A) Not put other people off from buying it
B) Be returned to standard specification easily enough when you get bored of it/can't keep it anymore etc
Specialised cars are hard to sell. Specialised cars that have been used for trackdays and now closer resemble racers than road cars............been there and got the T-shirt.
