Well.........SHE'S BACK HOME:D
Me and Alan went over to StreetRacers this morning to collect the car. Stayed for a cup of tea or two to wait for the rush hour traffic to pass before heading back. I drove the Time Attack car and Alan followed in his GT, pissing himself laughing.
My verdict on my first drive of the car is......
NOISEY...NOISEY...NOISEY
The suspension settings are way too stiff for the road...I thought my eyes were going to pop out of the sockets and as for the family jewels:smash:
The gearbox whines like feck and did I mention omg it's stiff.
The paddle clutch, well I managed to stall it 3 times before I was a hundred metres from Gordon. With him and Alan pissing themselves laughing. That paddle clutch has a bite like a Great White and the gearbox, short, clunky and very precise. I did manage to go from 4th to 3rd instead of 5th once. Oh and it's NOISEY.
The wastegate chatter is SOOOOOOOOOO addictive though:D
All in all I'm very happy, very happy. It feels far more focused than Herbie ever did. This is no compromise between road and track. There is no way I would ever consider driving this to the Ring as we did with Herbie.
LOVING IT:D

Great write up mate. I'm delighted that the forum/club could help you guys get to your end result, even if you couldn't get to Snetterton for Time Attack.
The 'new' Herbie sounds great; loud, angry, irritable and likely to challenge the driver
The old adage, the one that says 'good for the track, bad for the road' should hold you in good stead.
Can't wait to see it in the flesh
