Well, well, well.
I have done Marham many times before, like many of us have, but I would agree with Ben, this stands out as my favourite day at the venue.
Mike had called me @ about half seven, telling me he was already there after his two hour drive. No such trek for me as Marham's endless tarmac is just 35 minutes from home. A wonderful mornings weather brought together a relatively small group of drivers, compared to previous years, but BP had a good representation with Mike B, Ben, Lolek, Ian200sx, Bigbimma, Sasman, Datsun Des, Andy Warnes, Martyn Brown and myself all there for a laugh and some laps.
The briefing was great (Well done George) the breakfast was mega and the sighting laps were invaluable. The sneaky buggers had changed the track!!
The usual super fast right hander that fed into a braking area at the end of the main straight was now about one hundred yards shorter, so all of your braking had to be done going into the corner...interesting.
Anyway, Ben, Mike and I had regular trips out together throughout the day. Mike was usually quicker, especially in the bends where his superior grip (and talent
) paid dividends. Ben's trusty 8v was still doing the honours lap after lap; the high quality coilovers making up for the lowest quality tyres I have ever seen. Surprisingly, the straight line performance of the three mk2's was really similar.........until I started trying

I was lucky enough to go out in Lloyd and Ian's VR6. What a noise! That has given me something to think about engine wise as the combination of that noise and torque in a light mk2 shell should be something to behold.
Oh well
Thanks to all of the guys for a great day. Big thumbs up to Ben for making me laugh for half a lap. That spin was just so funny
Video from MikeB to follow.
