haha yeah 2k scooby it is, 2k on a evo will buy you a whole load of issues!!

Blimey is the fuel mpg that bad, I thought an RX7 was poor and the Scoobs would be better.

Explains the constant filling up on the way to the Ring eh Stu :)

I would say that the fuel usage of my STi is about on a par with my old Civic Type R when commuting.
With the Subaru you *know* why the fuel is disappearing, I could never understand how a modern 2litre engine in a Civic could drink that much.
I do know that with a faulty lambda sensor the thing was giving about 18mpg even on motorway runs, but that cleaned up massively when I chucked a new sensor in.
I went through the same process of elimination that you're going through, side from the normal japanese offerings you've only really got the VAG stuff to consider:

They seem to be a little bit rare though, and I don't reckon you'll be getting massively goof fuellage.
