DAY 4
as paul said yesterday noticed 3 inlet manifold gaskets were missing but thankfully paul text me this morning saying they had arrived.
today has been a progresive day the aston martin was still there with problems so as gordon was doing that i got on with a few other things
cleaned the inner wings
then i drilled new holes and fitted the power steering reserviour bottle and
relocated the window wash wipe bottle as in its current possition it would
get in the way of the air filter
next job was to change the xr4x4 clocks for cosworth ones, as soon i get
ones out the car i noticed a problem that the connector plugs were
different so had to swop the rev counter and speedo over and then
fitted them back into the car
gordon called a mate up in the morning to collect the RS500 intercooler
for him so that i could fit it into the car, had to drill and make a few
ajustments to it so it sat as forward as possable, also fitted the radiator as well
by now gordon had finished with the aston so it was back onto the engine
cams all torqured down
cam belt and tensioner fitted
while gordon was fitting the rocker cover i fitted the turbo on:sifone:
having seen the size of it and how high it is im not to sure if the bonnet will now close
the size of the front housing is 102mm, now thats going to suck up squirals:drool5:
then fitted the T piece for the oil for the turbo and oil pressure switch for
the diles, oil filter and also fitted the water pipes onto the engine as well
front the engine
when fitting the turbo we realised the bracket on the exhuast down pipe
would not fit onto the turbo so gordon went out to a mates place who is
going to make us up the bracket we need.
