Following a bad cut to my foot which got infected i have been on crutches since last saturday. The hospital cleaned and dressed it, gave me some antibiotics and pain killers and told me to see my doctor on tuesday.
On tuesday the doctor didn't even look at it, just took notes and said he couldn't give me more antibiotics as i had not finished the 1st course of tablets.
On thursday went back, the doctor looked at it briefly gave me a repeat prescription and added on an antibiotic cream and said i would have to come back the next day so a nurse could put a dressing on it.
Today saw the nurse who took one look at it and left the room to fetch a doctor, who in turn fetched another doctor. Then they start firing questions at me like has anyone taken blood, why was it not dressed.........
The outcome so far, my whole foot is now infected and i am awaiting a call to go and see some sort of specialist and the drug count of what i'm taking has now tripled from the start of the week. Things that they are saying my doctor should have done when i first saw him.
When i jokingly said ahhh just cut it off, the reply i got was not want i expected. "It shouldn't come to that, let's see what the blood test show up first"
Looks like i won't be driving the new car when the new engine goes in, for a while at least.
F***ing doctors
Best of luck Pablo. The lack of consistency in the NHS is a real worry and things like this seem all to common.

Woke up monday in a lot of pain and inspite of popping the pain killlers the hospital prescibed, Co-codamol, 6 hours later was still in a lot of pain. So time to phone an ambulance again.
The arrived very quickly, dressed the wound and transported me to my local hospital, where after 1/2 hour waiting in a corridor i was finally led through to a cubicle. Still in a lot of pain they said i to wait until the doctor had seen me.
3 hours later the doctor turned up. He asked some immagrant butcher nurse to take some blood and put in an IV drip. For the morphine and anti-biotics. Anyway, she missed the vein 3 times, then managed to nick the vein causing it to bleed out rather a lot.
In the early hours of the morning they decided to take me down for an x-ray, where the guy doing the x-ray managed to knock the open wound with one of the lead plates they use. Surprised I didn't wake the whole hospital and rip the twats head off.......
They still can't agree on what's caused it.........
Should have the results from the blood test in a couple of hours and still waiting for the appointment to see a specialist.
Just bored out of my mind and needing to rant......sorry.
