BigFil's big day out
Thanks for the comments guys and thanks Stu for the write up, I have just finished putting the last of the tools away so I can get back to some sort of normality.
Friday was just awesome, in fact the whole weekend has to be one of the best ever. I have to thank the crew - Mark, Stevie, Paul, Gary, Martin, Matt and Craig for their help on the day making sure that everything was OK on the car as I had other things to preoccupy me at the time.
The plan was to take it easy and see how she felt on the shakedown run which seemed to go OK so we started to wind it up a bit.
After trying the line lock on the burnouts it was time for the transbrake, the launch was set to 4200RPM and she shot out of the hole like a rocket. We tried different tyre pressures and shift points during the day but kept the car just over half power, all the results came back at 10.5ish - 126-127mph
Several boxes were ticked on the day but I think I was most pleased with a 1.4 second 60' and both front wheels in the air
I have a couple of photos from the day and some from Saturday which was RWYB

Saturday was the RWYB and after a warm up run Mark asked if his wife Sarah could ride as a passenger. I have to say it added a bit of humour to the run, especially when it launched and the wheels came of the ground again!! Still managed a 10.8 and I think Sarah liked it but it was hard to tell initially. I also had the chance to take another passenger before it got too busy so Matt opted for a ride - bless him, I wont embarrass him by giving all the facts but in between the screaming and shouting I think he said he enjoyed it or at least that what it sounded like

Again, I can't help thanking everyone who was involved enough and thanks again Stu and Trev for the trek across the counties - all that's left now is to go back add the gas and hold on

Driving a fast Jap import is like coming out of the closet, you might surprise some people, but in the end you are still gay.

That last photo is hilarious
I guess it sums up the difference between a road car and road car, BigFil style. Nice to see a photo with the front wheels in the air.
So, with the extra potential power left in the car ( full launch, NOS, extra revs, practice etc) what sort of numbers do you think are in the car? Surely you'll be looking at a low 9 or even an 8? You and Max1 side by side could be a real giggle
I mean on the strip, not in Levington

The next step will be to wind it up on the launch and try to get to low 10's. Once I get some consistency with that then I can start adding the gas and see where it takes us, I would be more than happy with a 9.something but should it be mid 9's I would be ecstatic.
Still haven't thought about running in any series as I need to get the car to hook up comfortably but as the season goes on I will be doing some more rwyb's just to make sure she holds together OK so I can start next year hard

Incredible mate and really nice to see if finally come to fruition after all this time. This must be the longest project on BP.
A brilliant end thats only going to get better......now how do I go about getting a passenger ride
