Golf gti 16v?
The coilovers and strut braces are a nice touch, although there is nothing to say that they aren't shot to buggery.

Ha Ha! In truth i doubt it! I think ive lost my way alittle bit? The scoob is slowly sinking into the drive- no sprints and next to no track days this year. I`m counting on Harry to get his car sorted and book us lots of track days to get the blood flowing again!:) Although i can see the appeal of the golfs simplicity and the idea of a bargain banger golf shoot out on track might be just the answer?:rolleyes:stuart wrote:

You've hit the nail on the head. If I had to make a choice between the Golf and something dearer to run, like an M3, GTR or whatever, and I'd go for the Golf everytime. To put it another way, if it weren't for the Golf I'd have knocked cars on the head completely and had some serious time away. The trouble is then, is would I ever get back into it? I'll avoid answering that one for as long as I can.

Simple? Check!
RWD? check!
80's retro? check!

You could lob a proper Pinto in this in about 2 hours!

(With some carbs, a cam and some head work, you'd see 170 brake easy!- and you could still fix it with a spoon;))
