Welcome back, cracking cars the 850s, loved mine and it was nowhere near the spec of yours. Nice to see another "different" car in here.

Ok sorry to drag up my old thread but didnt know where to put my update.
Ok went to York raceway on sunday and its was abit of a nightmare.
Had 4 runs and only managed 1 hassle free run,the others went wrong as soon as i reached 5k rpm all the boost died and it just held the revs there was very strange.
Think it might be spark blow out from the plugs??
Well like i said i managed 1 run and only running 13psi i clocked a 14.8 96mph so i was pritty happy as i know i can run around 19psi once i sort this problem out.
Fastest volvo of the day was another 850 t5 he ran a 14.1 @ 105mph.
Well changed a few things on the car and went for a 60-100 run as i keep looking on a site that had loads of figures so as i couldnt get to a 1/4 mile track i did this.

<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allownetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.sw ... 100mph.flv" width="600" height="361">

Sorry for the wobbley footage.
Well i made it around 6.9 and thats only running 16.5 psi and know sign of the 5k rpm hick up,so fingures crossed it will be running a proper 300bhp very soon.

Embedded for you Russ

The car looks strong enough in that clip but as you say, no sign of misfire in the video. Do these things run coil packs? Every turbo car I've had did and they all seemed to eat the buggers when the boost was turned up.

May be worth a shot. I expected your (and other Volvo's) terminal speeds to be better. What sort of weight is your car these days?

Dizzy and rota arm, they have been changed.
I thought 105mph from the other volvo was good lol, there still a pritty heavy lump.
Mines still running as a normal road going car with all seats and stuff in,been tempted to strip it but really wanted to see what she goes like as is.
I think its just down to being fwd once you get the grip and then to 3rd gear and full boost they fly.

I meant your 96mph. What would you expect to hit, using full 19psi? Fully laden these are about 1500kgs?
I may be talking out of my hat Russ, not the first or last time, but I figured that 300bhp in 1500kgs may be a bit quicker........fuck knows. Off to check my online guesstimator :)

Lol sorry i thought you ment the quickest volvo of the day,i was running only 13psi with the terminal or 96mph.
I would say over 100mph terminal once running 19psi easy.
Found some stats here for a standard t5r.

My goal has always been a high 13 sec pass and 300bhp so will just have to see.
