Been working on the golf today was just going to go over the paint work as with the red they sufer with the paint going milky white so the guy over the road from me lent me this little gadget.

This done a excellent job of cutting though the milky paint to some fresh red useing
T cut then a good polish and the end result.

After this decided to sort out some of the wireing where people have removed stereos and put different things in there where quite a few cut wires and ones with bullet connections going no where.

so started to start tracing some of these and before i knew it the dash was nearly out. There where a few wires going under the carpet so took that out to find the sound proofing damp were one of the floor plugs had come loose.

Which then resulted in me removing all of the floor deading as it was flaking i also wonted to check the floor as ive bought a x semsec racing golf shell with a rollcentre roll cage in and a few other goodies light weight doors tailgate poly windows bonnet with all strenghtening removed. And a very clean shell in graphite.

Then repainted the floor

Then everything put back in all hard work hidden.

one other thing noticed today was and i dont know what sort of add on's you could spec these golfs up to and this one has no power steering someone asked for heated windscreen washer jets.

Woooooooahhhhhhh!!!
You didn't mention you'd bought this earlier?! I need you were hoping to get it, but you didn't confirm the deal was done :) So, a proper shell with lightened panels and a decent cage? We'll have to have a proper natter about 'plans' tomorrow at Brands.

Your red one looks much better with the single lamps mate. I am biased I suppose. Nice work on the paint. I'll bring some stuff along that should help seal the colour

That does look lovely. I like how you start off tidying up the wiring and end up nearly stripping the car:D. Not a bad days work though well done.

The next stage of the plan for the golf is now in full swing now i have picked up the ex semsec golf shell with a full rollcentre cage.

Image

It has a full set of light weight panels with everything that can be removed has been full set of polycarb windows.
Has also been seam welded round the suspention turrets front and rear and all underseal and sound deading removed and wireing cut back to a min.

The plan is to remove the cage from the shell and put it in the red one and then cover it over and forget about it or sell the rest of it on.

also picked up rear beam witch has the anti rollbar attached underneath it also has serverical bushes in the beam were it bolts to the shell and bought the front anti roll bar.

Once a bit more money comes in will be picking up his vw motorsport lower arms including the hubs which are also serverical joints and a quick rack but with no power steering don't know if a good idea and a bias pedal box.

So a few more bits to gather then time to attack ready for some track action.
