A brief review

Post by Stuart »

Temper Trap @ UEA

Warm up band were on late and fucking weird when they did come out, like a kind of Kate Bush/ Imogen Stubbs wannabe but without any rhythm, co-ordination and the musicians that supported her were tragic.

Sarah Blasko= Shinola 3/10 (At best.....stupid warbling little twat)

Main event.....when the antipodean gobshites could be bothered to leave their dressing rooms( 45 minutes late!!) well, what can I say? Dougie, the lead singer, was epic. The rest of the band were very strong and it has to be rated as an impressive performance, just soured by the lousy support act and the protracted waiting while the primadona's got their noses powdered.

The Temper Trap= Great performance, stuck up their own arseholes 7/10

Roll on those Drum and Bass thugs next week. Let's see if they can put on a better show than the hobbit bird last night and the 'main event'. One things for sure, if they keep us waiting like last night (doors opened at 7.30, Doris was on at 8.30 and the Temper Trap came on at 9.40 and were off by 10.30) I think I'll go for a quiet drink up the road whilst listening to their CD instead.

50 minutes wasn't my main whinge; they didn't have that much material with only one studio album to date........it was more the fact that we were advised to turn up at 7.30, 8pm at the latest and then they didn't get on stage until 9.40. Matters were made worse by the 'warm up' act. She danced like the zombies out of Thriller (but not cool) and the bloody music was shocking; nothing like the sort of thing that you'd expect to accompany the main band.

One of those things I suppose.
