Gordon is sorting out getting the block and head refaced and bores honed. Due to the good condition of the base engine we are not planning on increasing the displacement as we want to keep the strength in the block. The turbo will be a gt30-71 I believe, but defo a gt30. We may not have the new turbo in time as it is hard to get the one we want with an external wastegate as 90% of cossie's have internal wastegates, but we have a backup plan. Management will now be omex. All the balancing will be done next weekstuart wrote:How's Gordon getting on with the engine? What's the plans for management, turbos, displacement etc?

Yet again the weather messed up our plans:frown:. The day was spent dodging rain and hail showers but somehow still managed to get a fair bit done.
Roll bar now repainted and fitted.

Drivers seat and harness fitted. This gave Alan a right headache as when I got in it to test my driving position found that the seat would not come forward on the runners:banghead:. Problem turned out to be a broken clip catching on a screw. Problem soon fixed once Alan grabbed his hammer:smash:

Whilst sheltering from the rain Alan was poisoning me with the fumes from fibreglass. The front bumper is a copy and not an original and as such the fit wasn't perfect and was fouling the front o/s wheel on full lock. So Alan had to cut off the end piece and make a new one up so that it cleared the wheel.

as we are looking to save wieght in the car we thort one the best places would be is with the sunroof as glass does wiegh alot so been working on this area.
got sunroof and wieghed it and came out at 9KG, i managed to get the glass out in one piece.

i used the glass as a template to to use a old bonnet skin i had at home and thankfully it rolled round to degree the sunroof glass did

after a rubdown to get rid of any dirt and over spray that was on it i aplied some black vinyl i had lying about

then using some sealent i aplied it to the sunroof frame and put the weather strip back on

i have wieghed the sunroof again and it comes out at 5KG so all hard work has been worth it saving a further 4KG
its no quite finished as ive got to wait for it dry then the edging of the weather strip will have some seatent put on it to ensure a water tight seat is formed
