Smolenski, the Russian owner, has give this the green light. The new model will be unveiled at the Goodwood Moving Motor Show in July and is likely to feature the LS9 engine from the ZR-1, all 638hp of it
I happen to think that people will pay 'that' sort of money for anything with a TVR badge on it, it's just that the number that are prepared to do so may be lower than ideal. Knowing how cheap you can buy brand new Corvette engines as turn key set ups on an individual basis, I would say that it's probably cheaper for TVR to buy in a powerplant than to make their own. This may help costs; this must help reliability issues.
Time will tell but anything that is really light, packs a 600+ bhp and torque figure and looks like a TVR, should be well worth the money for those in this market.
I think I'm right in saying that he split TVR into three separate firms in 2006 and it was Blackpool Automotive that went in to administration. He bought TVR back in 2007 after he was the highest bidder. 99% sure that he's the sole owner at the moment.
