I reckon I could place money on Mike not being content with an old Golf in a couple of months, and a few others as well.
Unless your racing them then I don't see the fun, as on a trackday or sprint as you say you'll be sloooooooow unless chucking silly cash at them, by which time your better off with a nicer car.
Why not get a Clio 197 like Richard Kirby has now, they look ace and he was saying they are great, then your back into a good class in A2 and you just buy the car and drive it! Simples!
Reason for the topic was not to have a go at anyone, just wondering where everyone had gone, as again, from Gerry's post, the banter in between runs was excellent with the group that was out there.
I'm not swanning off Gerry, you know my feeling on NW. Other than that location I actually think the other 2 airfield events that there are on the calender are actually quite good, mostly because they are very quick and you can really hang it out on them
