I thought Rod's car was a legitimate monster.....not saying that 800 odd horsepower and 190 makes him less so, but is the tyres thing (to help the gearing I guess) factual? I didn't notice them being balloon like........just assumed they were running some kind of trick gearing.

the wheels that he is running are fronts 215/40/17 and the backs are 235/45/17 and they should be the same as fronts all round.
now to put this into perspective i had 225/55/15 on the back my old GT once and they should been 205/50/15 and because of this small difference i calculated that i was going 1MPH faster every 10MPH.
a good part of my dislexia is im good at maths.

Is Rod's car two or four wheel drive?
Surely any records like this have to be backed up with GPS stuff though, not what the speedo says. What does the gearbox ratios allow as a theoretical maximum?

I think Rod is a member on here isn't he? I'm sure he joined a while back.

As far as I know, the car has been in continuous development ever since in the quest for even higher power and top speed. I also think it runs 19's for top speed runs now too- they may have been on in that Fifth Gear vid as they look larger than 17's.

:)
