Mike, I LOVE those wheels!
My old 16v had a Jetex and a K and N element filter, and from memory pulled harder towards the red line than standard.
Not sure about the LSD though, don't remember them having them......off to have a nose.

Ater a good look over the engine as i bought the car with a suspected head gasket gone but could not find a problem in the oil or water or when it started and so i stripped down of the water system found the thermo stat not fitted correctley and the bottom housing pissing water due to the thermo being fitted on top of the seal instead of under it.
Back flushed the heater matrix the valves where all fine to the heater matrix as well
Flushed the rad with the hose quite a bit of dirty water and gunge came out so put it all back together filled the system up and ran the car all warmed up heater working fan cut in lasted about 20 seconds then cut off and the golf kept its tempreture.
left it running for about half hour then took it up the farm for a blast the roar from the air flap in the air box made me smile and must admit was quite surprised how responsive it was so brought it back there was no bad running or water anywhere so ive ordered a new rad water pump and genuine thermostat that will arrive tomorrow.
So will fit saturday and fingers crossed as the parts are so cheap its worth doing and hope that fixes it instead of removing the head.
