I was wondering whether the sexual innuendo's would start up
The question is, do I go bright or do I go fluo? Having seen James' drift car go from dayglo to bright orange in the time it took the UV rays to 'kill' it, I'm not sure I could actually achieve a proper fluorescent finish, so bright may have to do.
I have a couple of ideas of ways to link the colour so that the wheels don't seem like some random afterthought. The car will still take its largely standard theme, road spec, but retaining comfort and trim so that it's easily comparable to the other Golfs on here.
As Gerry recently opined, there is no sense in buying or building something that is 10% quicker than everyone else, when the whole point is a level (ish) playing field. Trev and I have been looking into a super cheap brake upgrade for the front and in time, that may happen, but that's about it.

Yes, agree on the wheels. Bright with coordinated subtle detailing.
Hope you have even more fun/value than you did with the M3 mate.

For those in the know, I've just twigged something quite interesting.....the Reeves mk2 Golf also wears Compomotive MO's
That makes my paint choice all the better
The first one is done. Mr Savin is helping with tyre removal duties tomorrow and then I should get the others all refurbished and painted this weekend.
Drivers door handle, well the interior one, has packed in so I'll need to strip that down too; allegedly a simple fix

First of a few updates
The Compomotives I bought from Trev, the ones that were fitted to the 6R4, were in desperate need of a refurb.

A combination of dead stickers, postage labels from TNT and general Rally induced snot, meant that the usually desirable wheels looked a bit.............mullered

Time to hit them with the DA and restore a bit of class to these British alloys
A quick inside and out with the primer and these bad boys were taking shape already

My favourite part (if you exclude grinders) Matt black!!

Et voila. A small finishing touch should be in my postbox tomorrow and then these will be fitted with suitable rubber.
More later in the week!
