Rob
I'm pulling your leg mate, you're not supposed to but I do seem to be lucky in that many people pull over and let me by on the corners (Funny that)
Gerry
I, for one, have been championing cheap affordable fun for ages. Rewind back about three years when I had the 8v that Ben now owns.......remember, a few people said they would buy them and no one else did :)

No MX-5 for me. I have the cheap affordable and fun car that I wanted.

It's the principal that counts. The advantage of the MX5 is the soft top. I can imagine sweltering in the A11 traffic to/from Snett. in a non a/c tin top

Might be cancelling any interest in the Rocco, found something I prefer (FM, a few hours ago I had nt even thought of outing the Golf, now I'm on my 2nd car of interest in a few hours!)

Wow, that Scala brings back great memories. Through the '90s I did 100k miles in my old Scirocco GTi. With a few upgrades from Tim Stiles racing it was pretty quick on the back-roads. I followed that with a Corrado VR6 which was great too, as said earlier a bit nose-heavy but a really nice drive. Don't pay over the odds for a Storm, mine was similar spec and cost way less. Over 100k you might see camchain probs on the VR6, but mine was fine at 130k.

If anyone is looking at the Scirocco, check the fuel filler pipe carefully for rust. Replacement item is a good sign. That rust can quickly trash the pump, metering head and injectors, then if you don't clean everything out meticulously the residual particles can do the same all over again ... damhikijkok

As the Sugababes would say......Ugly !! (so I'm told the song goes)

I like the Golfs and the Corrado's but think the Scirocco is a tad dated looking. If you squint it looks like a Delorean :)

Aye, those Zender arches don't do it any favours!

Will dig out a pic of my old one, was much prettier!

O'course, a well-preserved Mk1 Scirocco would be the one to have - like the Mk1 Golf its lines were pure and unadulterated (both Guigiaro too, I think)
