Same here Logan. My brother was saying at the weekend that he wants to do some track days and that he would buy the car if I could keep it up at mine and do any work on it that it needed. Might ring him to see if he would like to get a golf :D
I may be getting older but I REFUSE to grow up :D

Right going to do this again after the day i had of picking the golf up spent a hour typing up a report went to photo bucket to up load pics and lost the post so here we go.

First things result today sold the M3 this morning.

So the day had come to pick the golf up borrowed a trailer off the guys who are running the bmw art car at snetterton today so put it in the factory ready for the 7.30 start.

Hooked the trailer up to the x5 and away i went to ashbey de la zouch ( junc 22 m1)
on the way out of the farm trailer was a bit jumpy but put it down to roads on the farm, got on to the A1060 and now the car was vibrating pulled over checked all and all seemed in place so put down to the road surface again as its used by alot of farm machinery and the weather weve had.

Once i joined the A120 there was a deffernet big problem once i reached 70 the passenger seat was trying to jump out the window so pulled over again all seeemed fine again until i took the trailer off the back of the car and rolled and the front tyre had started to seperate from the carcase and was s shaped with no spare on the trailer and not noing if the guys were in this morrning as they had packed every thing up ready for sunday.

So let the affending tyre down so it was not in contact with the road and drove back to the factory thinking boll-cks to this is it worth it all this hassle.
But i was not going to be stopped by a tyre.

Once back at the factory waited for about 45 mins by now its getting on for 9.15 so rang a tyre company to see if they had a trailer tyre but only had van tyres not the c rated you need for a trailer, but then thought its at the front the golf dont weight much and the other 3 where fine so drove the car and trailer there 15 mins later and

Only you would have a mobile car hoist :)

Nice looking Golf Mike. Looks like it's time to downsize proper. Anyone want to buy an Evo? :D

Looks good Mike but not sure I'd be hoisting cars up on a forklift. Its how all the R32 GTRs and other imported cars get bent jacking points.

Are they alloys or just hubcaps ?
Amazingly clean car.

Another one with bloody electric windows! :)

From what I have read and heard Mike, the best thing for the for the induction or filtration is a drop in K & N or similar; don't bother with induction cones unless you can keep it away from hot air and duct directly to it. (I'll be going for a drop in)

Suspension wise, you pay your money and make your choice. Cheap coilovers are

looks nice mike
as stu says really about suspension you can get ultra budget raceland coilovers and heard good and bad things about them , i did buy a set for the mk1 but never actually got around to use them, they looked kind of ok and jamex use the same shocks but just use different stickers :D i have koni top adjustable struts and lowered springs that were on the car when i got it and plan to keep unless a set of kw's or bilstien or similar coilies come up for the right price , the koni's seem alright though.
as for power increase its all the obvious n/a stuff like headwork / cams and maybe throttle bodies or twin carbs
various vag 2.0l bottom ends also mate up to the head no problem
budget golf racing here we come :)
Small one's are more juicy
