today started off at 6am getting car loaded up with last few parts i needed to take over to pauls and to be on the road before any kind of traffic built up, managed to drive car over to pauls house with the rear bearings making a horrid noise.

started work on the car at 8.00, sun was our and it was a nice crisp morning.
even thow i was changing the beam i was also converting the car from drum to calaper brakes
Image

after 2 hours work this is were i had got upto
Image
Image

all the beam off and the slip diff that i believe is the route of my problems
Image

new beam to go on with a limited slip diff
Image

Also changed standard shocks for koni top mount ajustables
Image

beam and shocks fitted
Image

discs, calapers, brake pipes and diff all fitted
Image

having discs look much better that drums
Image

after dropping the car to the floor the high of the car was way to high for my liking so replaced the standard springs with escort cosworth lowering springs and it has dropped the hight.

tomorrow im going to play with the settings in the koni's to get set up for the road, also going to sort a few rust patches out as well

with the bits of sapre time ive had ive been sorting out the bonnet to be fitted to my car.

when i got the bonnet it had a really big deep dent at the front like it had been under a lorry, this has taken the most time to sort out.
i started off with taking the innertube off my mountian bike and feeding it between the skin and skelinton of the bonnet, this helped with getting most of the dent out of the bonnet, to assist with the innertube i used a block of wood and a hammer and run it across the seems this process got about 90% of it all out. what was left was filled in with fibreglass and skimmed over.

after process

primed

also rubbed down bonnet vents and under light strip and primed

Nice work Al. Nice knife too ;)

How do your Goldfish cope with the fumes off of all of the paint and fibreglass?
