well its a mid mounted transverse engine, no seperate diff housing as such

whatever the noise was, it certainly was radial and you could feel it through the clutch pedal and gear knob

Just seen this guys.

It was definitely gearbox noise (bearing rumble) that went away when the clutch was depressed. The old oil was silvery. New was put in. As it still looks new, no more damage seems to be occuring yet unless the bits are too big to come out of the drain plug lol.

Really strange the noise seems to have gone away.

Lol oh dont say that Eddy haha. I'm going to hold off on the box change for the moment mate. It will definatley be changed over though so no worries about that, just want to save up properly and get it done debt free like last time

So i'll be in contact again late April/late May.

But yes it really is an odd one, was definatley audable from outside the car. :/ but hey, if it behaves itself until i get to yours with another one i'm not complaining.

Quick update, today i ordered two new rear tyres and also because i had sod all to do decided on stripping weight out of the car

two weeks early, but hey

it's noticeably nimble through the bends and accellerates better.

and i've also fitted the OEM strut brace back onto the front including the aftermarket one, and again it's noticeable.

lets hope for dry weather

What the hell did you strip out to feel the difference like that? I went from standard to no interior and 1 seat and couldnt tell the difference

To be fair Matt i did ditch about 100+kgs of shit.

had all the tools, parts, tent in the front boot. then i removed the other seat, glovebox (that was packed with stuff) door panels, interior panels. after that dumping all the stuff from the rear boot like trolley jack, stands.

So i guess thats why i noticed a difference
