Those workshop pics don't show it all and there's another huge hangar that I'm pretty sure is more of the same. The guy was telling us that they run a F2 series where drivers can basically show up and drive. Cost for a season,

Yeah they run FPA and F2 from there. 35+ Cars in each series.

Great write up Gerry and i'm glad you had fun!! Be interested to know who your instructor was for the day!!

Im sure that if there was enough people wanting to do this on a group buy i could try and speak through the channels to arrange something.

Obviously not the whole day as thats

Unfortunately, I have a gift, or knack of hearing a name and promptly forgetting it. all I can tell you is he had a mild scottish accent and maybe 5' 7"

Again, unfortunately the opportunity of having it recorded wasn't mentioned until after when someone enquired. We should have been told at the briefing apparently.

The indicators were the one reason I chose the M3 over the Porsche, single seater, Land Rover, Peugeot, etc.

I really can't understand it. There's an indicator stalk within easy reach of the left hand fingertips. I discovered that if it's pushed upward, the right hand indicators flash and conversely, downward, the left hand indicators flash, just like a conventional car. Nothing clever or too technical I hear you say.

So why the feck don't BMW, Audi and Merc drivers use the bloody things?

Why does the use of indicators matter to you Houghton? Every road car you have (barring Liz's Honda) is normally in a lay by somewhere with the bonnet up.....we BM owners don't need to indicate then as you peasants are well out of the way ;)

A superb write up Sir. The first impression of most of Dr Palmer's Empire is so well polished, so professional. That day looks like enormous fun and those M3's look a bit special.

OK I'll bite. but first, I'd remind you that like the Norfolk Staples I too drive an ultra reliable Swedish motor.

Indicators are your best friend. They announce to other road users what your intentions are. With that small piece of shared knowledge, your sudden change of direction will have had the element of surprise subdued, the sting of your bullish swerve to dominance dulled. You will infuriate fewer fellow road users and befriend more. You will demonstrate consideration, thoughtfulness, pre-meditation, politeness and good manners. Further, others, armed with this encyclopaedic wealth of knowledge of your next move will allow the trafic to flow so much more smoothly. Roundabouts will flow again, road junctions will empty more smoothly.

And more importantly, my heart rate will stay at a sensible level for the entire journey.

Your secod paragraph, in stark contrast of the first, is spot on mate :)
